01 Overview
This policy applies to Colidy users, visitors, and people who interact with our services. In this policy, “Colidy,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the team operating the Colidy service.
Colidy is built for people who want to publish ideas, discover projects, apply to join teams, and collaborate in shared workspaces. Some information you provide is meant to be visible to others so the service can work.
02 Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information created when you use Colidy, and limited technical information needed to operate and protect the service.
- Account information, such as your name, email address, password credentials, verification status, phone number when provided, and connected sign-in providers.
- Profile information, such as username, display name, bio, avatar, website, location, country, skills, interests, social links, and profile visibility settings.
- Idea and project content, such as titles, descriptions, categories, tags, required skills, preferred countries, participant limits, applications, reviews, tasks, polls, and project progress.
- Messages and collaboration activity, including project chat messages, attachments, notifications, support messages, and email preferences.
- Files you upload, including avatars, idea covers, project files, filenames, content type, file size, hashes, and related metadata.
- Location details you choose to add to ideas or your profile, such as a city, country, remote/flexible preference, or map coordinates for physical ideas.
- Technical data, such as device identifiers for push notifications, browser or app information, IP-derived security signals, log data, and approximate usage activity.
03 How we use information
We use information for the purposes below and for other purposes you ask us to perform.
- To create accounts, authenticate users, keep sessions active, process uploads, send notifications, and provide the website and app.
- To help people discover relevant ideas, profiles, countries, skills, join requests, and collaboration opportunities.
- To send service messages, verification emails, password reset emails, security alerts, product updates you choose to receive, and support replies.
- To detect spam, fraud, abuse, security incidents, policy violations, and technical problems.
- To understand how Colidy is used, improve features, fix bugs, and make the service easier and safer to use.
- To comply with applicable law, enforce our rules, respond to lawful requests, and protect the rights, safety, and property of Colidy, users, and others.
04 What other users can see
Some Colidy features are designed for discovery. Public profile details, public ideas, idea locations, tags, required skills, and creator information may be visible to other users and visitors depending on your settings and the feature.
When you apply to an idea or join a project, the idea owner and project members may see information needed to evaluate and collaborate with you, such as your profile, application, role, messages, tasks, poll votes where shown by the feature, and shared files.
Private project content is not meant for public browsing. We may access it when needed to provide support, maintain safety, investigate abuse, comply with law, or operate the service.
05 Service providers and integrations
We use trusted service providers to host data, send email or SMS, deliver push notifications, process authentication, store files, protect forms from abuse, monitor errors, and operate infrastructure. These providers may process personal information only for the services they provide to us.
If you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google, Apple, or Facebook, we receive the information needed to authenticate you, such as an account identifier, name, email address, and avatar when provided by that provider. Your use of those providers is also governed by their own privacy policies.
06 Retention and security
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide Colidy, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, comply with legal obligations, and support backups and security. Retention periods vary depending on the type of data and why we need it.
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No online service can be perfectly secure, so you should use a strong password, keep your credentials private, and tell us if you believe your account has been compromised.
07 Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain uses of your personal information. You can make many changes directly in Colidy or contact us for help.
- Access: you can review account, profile, idea, and project information available in your account.
- Correction: you can update profile details, settings, and many types of content you created.
- Deletion: you can request account deletion. Some information may be retained where required for legal, safety, backup, or legitimate business reasons.
- Portability: you can ask for a copy of personal information associated with your account where applicable.
- Communication choices: you can change email update settings and device notification permissions at any time.
08 International use
Colidy is used by people in many countries. Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. When we transfer information internationally, we take steps intended to protect it according to applicable privacy requirements.
09 Children
Colidy is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Colidy, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
10 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Colidy changes or as legal requirements evolve. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, when appropriate, notify you through the service or by email.
